Google are adding search boxes within some high profile results. Try searching for something like ‘Five’ on Google and you’ll get a search box appearing within the Channel Five listing.
This might seem like a good idea, but it does seem to be Google looking to hang onto visitors for just a little longer. Most decent sites that need searching will have implemented a search facility within the site. Relying on Google to perform a top down scrape of the site and delivering up a load of results (along with their AdWords!) is not the best experience.
I like to see the site I’m searching, so for now I’ll be leaving the secondary search alone.
